NRB in the press
Laurence Mathieu, CEO of NRB, has been named Leading ICT Lady 2026 by Data News.
This recognition highlights not only a professional career, but above all an ambition — an ambition firmly rooted in the realities, challenges and opportunities shaping our sector today: increasing competition, rapid technological acceleration, the meteoric rise of artificial intelligence, growing recruitment challenges and a geopolitical context that requires organizations to remain agile in their strategic decisions.
“Out of every hundred applicants for an entry-level position, only five are suitable,” says Laurence Mathieu, CEO of NRB, one of Belgium’s largest IT companies with 3,500 employees. “That’s because the profile we’re looking for has changed significantly in recent years.” Whereas junior staff used to be able to start with routine tasks, based on what they had learnt during their studies, AI is increasingly taking over those tasks.
“It is, of course, important for employees to have a basic understanding of AI,” says Laurence Mathieu, CEO of NRB, one of Belgium’s largest IT service providers with around 3,500 employees. “But what is even more important to us is the ability to engage in lifelong learning. A qualification primarily demonstrates that someone is capable of continuing to learn.”
“Our strength as an employer lies in the diversity of our roles. We cover the entire digital transformation value chain: from strategic consulting to the development of bespoke solutions, including support with implementation, cybersecurity, AI, digital sovereignty and more... It’s a fantastic playground for IT enthusiasts. We also benefit from the strength of a group, which opens up interesting opportunities within our subsidiaries.” — Laurence Mathieu, CEO of NRB
