Houffalize won the Agoria’s Smart City Award thanks to the Letsgocity app and the support of The NRB Group.

Friday 27 January 2017

Houffalize won the Agoria’s Smart City Award during the Smart Cities forum that took place on Thursday January the 26th in Brussels. The municipality won this prize after it successfully implemented a new mobile app developed by the Liège-based start-up Letsgocity. This app had been co-developed by Afelio, a subsidiary of The NRB Group specialized in web & mobile development.

During this forum, no less than six Belgian municipalities were rewarded for their innovations in the fields of smart city and Houffalize was among them. An award that also supports the Smart City strategy advocated by the NRB Group.

Indeed, Letsgocity, the young Liège-based start-up, contracted Afelio, a subsidiary of The NRB Group, to rebuild its local-life-reinvigorating application; application which won the Agoria’s Smart City Award. This contextual and mobile app is used by the municipality of Houffalize to provide its citizens with relevant information depending on their location and point of interests (local information, special local breed, shops, cultural performances, news …

The application developed by Letsgocity ties in with the Smart Cities Strategy of the NRB Group since it may be used as mobile front-end for certain back office applications developed by Civadis, another subsidiary of The NRB Group which specializes in the development of IT solutions & services for communal administration. Through the ‘e-guichet’ (the web platform developed by Civadis which enables the users to access certain services provided by their municipality), any citizen will be able to use his/her smartphone to request a certificate of good conduct. The citizen will also be able to monitor the status of his/her request and he / she will receive a notification as soon as the requested document is ready for collection.

This is another good acknowledgement of The NRB Group’s know-how, especially in this strategic development area that are the smart cities and which will be presented to the public servants during the next ‘Salon des Mandataires’ that will take place in WEX in Marche-en-Famenne on February the 16th and 17th 2017.
